Right now. I am feeling really enthusiastic about something.
Its been awhile since I've done anything creative and constructive out of my own willingness.
I have ideas streaming in (not a lot but still helpful ideas) but I have to ask myself to stop because it is distraction to what it utmost important. Bioinformatics assignment 2 due on the 21st and final exams on the 27th.

So, what is this event that got me excited?
It is the 2NE1 'lonely' contest! At first I was attracted by the prize- a tour of the YG building.
But then subsequently, I realised what I really was excited about was getting to re-create the video and ultimately come up with some form of art. Yes, I am happy with just being able to create a piece of something and admire it with others/myself.
Let's just say I hope to finish and accomplish something through this project, even if its just for our personal well-being.

I am looking at animations of cut-outs, which looks practical enough for a two men team.
Whether we have time to finish up i really dunno. We'll try and see how.

How would you intepret lonliness? ^^

Everyone likes having a choice. Everybody likes the feeling of having the power to choose.What is a correct decision? To me, I truely think that there can be no correct or wrong choice made. With exceptions of morality or legal issues. But the existance and wide exceptance of homosexuality makes me think that the society has advanced to another level. Be it good or bad. oks back to the topic. A wise choice makes the hero in a person's world.Because face it, it is often difficult to put yourself in somebody's shoes entirely unless it is in your own face. Rather, the chosen choice may be known as better or more practical? Neither right nor wrong i suppose. Ponder about the scenario where you have to pull the plug on one of your close ones.

In trend with the recent dilemma our island's people is faced with.. how would you deal with it? Would you make a practical choice? Or a choice that you are going with based on your gut feeling? TBH, I am unsure. More like I already saw the model answers for my assaybased history exam. LOL. I have to agree and disagree, weigh the pros and cons...etc.Ah, arent these also the pains of shopping for that property, car or branded bag? The mind chooses choice A but theheart chose choice B.

It is obvious that all that have been done was done for US to agree/disagree and TALK about. Sorry to say but I hate people who start pointless conversations about it. Ultimately, a choice has to be made.And I deserve the right and choice to not 'entertain' others. Does having the words POWER , RIGHT DECISION and FUTURE excite you? Or confuse you?

End notes: This is just a random thought of mine. Thought i'll share it as i owe my blogs alot of content.

Hellos!
In a quite good mood today even though i'm kind of tired. Feeling the need to blog.
Today's the 8th day of Chinese New Year.
How has the new year been treating you?
Hopefully its doing well~
Now I'm retaking statistics and am trying real hard at the moment!
Actually I'm aiming for D-istinction so give me strength and luck~ :D
Nah today I actually feel like I can relax a lil since all assignments are about done :)

Since 2 years ago, I have been buying/collecting certain Japanese fashion magazines.
I buy them on a monthly basis. Two of them that I use to buy regularly is Cancam and Zipper.
The thing I like about Japanese magazines is the amount of content they provide.
Its a fashion magazine but they include lifestyle, skincare and other interesting articles.
Cancam is mainly targeted at young working females below the age of 25
I think Zipper targets a younger age group but to be honest I think these two magazines are of totally different genres.
Zipper is more individualistic and casual while Cancam focuses mainly on feminine looks for professional/casual days.
Why am I reading magazines of totally different genres.
Srsly. I am not too sure but now I choose to believe its 2 of my different personas.
I am usually more a Zipper 'girl' with denim and T-shirts/blouses. I work in a lab but this is more of an excuse/obstacle to dress up.
People in the lab actually ask if u're going on a date if you decide to dress up to work.
Trust me.
So, in a way my 'Cancam' persona meets an obstacle here.
Yes, I enjoy shopping. I cannot deny this, nobody can i suppose.
But I always refrain from posting any shopping buys in fear of 'contaminating' my personal blog.
Tracing back to 2006, you can see I mostly write lengthy assays of everyday or abstract short verses on emotional stuff I dnt wish to elaborate on.
As such, I never really post much shopping/pictures here.
So! Recently I cleared my past 2 years of Cancam and Zipper collection while keeping the interesting pages I want (ALOT!).
Thus, I have decided or rather would like to set up a blog to share tips from these two magazines! Plus, I will put all my shopping/fashion/skin care/makeup related stuff there ^^
Let's take it as a transition shall we?!
Build-up of courage, whatever you may call it.
I have not started thinking of what to put up as yet for the first post so it might take awhile~ probably it'll be up by March?*hopefully* ><

This picture above was taken when I went Seoul Forest in SEP 2010.
I wish i could wake up everyday to such beautiful flowers and fresh air.

Colleagues say as usual, this year whizzed past too quickly. They have not a clear idea what they did in May up till August. They mention the conference period was the most vivid. Because It was recent.
Doesn't it feel very weird to not know and forget what we have done ?!Many tend to remember traumatic/impact events usually. And forget the major part of the tiny things that make up their daily lives.
Those become a thoughtless routine, the rest meant to be unconsciously forgotten. Maybe that's why I keep an online and a physical blog. To keep track of events that happened, whether big or small and the emotions/attitude at the point of time. My reason being I have more of a nostalgic personality perhaps.

This year was a good one I remember.
Work contributes to a major part of my weekday.
On certain days, school could be my second home.
Home- I consider it to be a sanctuary to recharge myself going after a long day.
I can read/laze/write/watchdramas/
But,** I have a lot of buts going on because there is still some grey areas in my life**
Maybe going out more for abit of socializing would be good~
Oks I wrote the above on tues morning. Now coming back to continue, I forgot what I was thinking at tt point of time and so I shall leave the above to end as it is^^

I resolute to put empathy into action in 2010. I have took tiny steps but could do better. This resolution shall be carried forward every year and accumulated.
2 years ago when I first started in SERI, I remember thinking what I like to concentrate on if given a chance to. I choose the retina unspecifically. Starting next Jan, I am transferred to the retina group from the Myopia one because of certain reasons :)
Others things at work I alrdy explained previously so ~~ ^^

2010. The year kpop invaded SG. Me too me too! June was happening. I was doing crazy things like rushing to MJ hougang Mall from office and back just to preorder B2ST's handshake session tix . Then being left high and dry from the previous night, bought B2ST's showcase tix on a wimp. All the while liasing with the buyer in the lab.But fellow fangirl(C) went out of the way and back to collect the tixs. Thanks! Did I say the showcase was on the night we bought our tix XD then hurriedly cabbed to Mediacorp after work with C while her cousin stalled seats for us. Srsly I could learn from her XD Yays! Miraculously had good front seats and throughly enjoyed the showcase. Tried to send the boys off but no beginner's luck>< Then breaking news: KPOP concert. Caused chaos and uproar among teens and media. Questioning the sanity of ppl to queue overnight for getting a Random number for tickets!! Quite insane and impossible, bought online tix for back seats instead. Nvrm. Important thing was to see BIG BANG. Nvr thought would get to meet them. *screamssilently* want to see them upclose, waving an obscenely attn seeking LED lightboard XD This year's trip was to Korea. Stayed in Seoul. Fun trip and memorable. Would be good for the next trip to include areas out of Seoul and the sauna house! TBH. I felt this trip was more fulfilling than the japan one. As in I felt more prepared so I enjoyed it better?! Keep getting lost but we fun things like Jaejoong! We were meant to see each otherXD *LOLforever*

In all, 2010 was a good year. I will be back with 2011 resolutions in the next few hours!
Fell asleep last night. In this 2011, these are the list of things I would like to work on:

1) Improve on my laziness. Even better, to get rid of it. Procrastination sometimes gets in the way. I dnt like tt kind of feeling. So yea. :)) Away with Laziness!

2) I would want to pick up on how to play the keyboard. There is one at home and I dnt want to waste it. A long way starting with theory. Again, procrastination was the culprit :s

3) Start yoga again! Ohmai the good food kept coming in. Irresistable. The least is to exercise to burn the excess and keep the fats at bay><

4) Maintain a consistent STD of cleanliness and tidiness in my compounds.

5) Do self study and maybe take N4 at the end of this year.
A few more other things I won't mention but ttz abt it. Wish me discipline and luck!:))

Was reading a book which tries to enlighten their readers on how to make a big difference to certain aspects of their lives based on small changes.
Written based on papers and experiments conducted, the author lists out a few important points in order to change that certain aspect.
Small quizzes are there to put in abit of interactive-ness~ ^^
I managed to read like half the book but was more interested in the Happiness and Attractiveness chapters.

What brings Happiness?
One point they say :
.To give is better than take
The best is to perform more than 5 kind deeds / day

What is attractiveness?Or rather --> How to increase it
. The power of touch.
A brief one to be precise

And they did the experiment on whether the size of a women's boobs has anything to do with attractiveness!
Turns out size REALLY does matters~~

Cant remember alot of the details. Definately interested in getting the book.
I suppose its a self help. Not too sure cause I picked it up at the best sellers chinese section. Its translated from english btw.
Some points are quite duh and common but to have a basis of explanation for them is neat~ I Like.
Psychology stuff is intriguing dnt you think?^^

Things havnt been going too well these few days.
Maybe its just me?
The burden of a promise is somewhat overwhelming.
Disappointment is a strong emotion that scars ya'll know.
We'll see.

This year it gets tiring here.

I am one year older. That pretty sums up how I'm feeling now.
Twenteeoneyrs I have learnt many things that events and ppl make their entrance and exit, sonetimes abit abrupt till it hits you in the head like you've suffered a Deja vu or smthing.
We cannot deny but regret about certain things that has happened.
So this yr, I wish to have the strength to embrace life in a more enthusiatic and upright manner.That aside, I also wish for a body that I can be prouder of!^^

To 2010!! Aiya I actually wrote out a draft for my new year resolutions but forgot to bring it!!
I lost the list of resolutions I set for 2009 but I think it ws on the lines of striving hard @work and studying hard as usual I suppose?!
 Overall I think I did ok'd at work, but occasionally it's difficult to keep all those unhappy feelings away eh~
I always assume its just a passing phase when it happenshaha..
Besides this year I have gained a few companions at work! I totally believe tt having good company really does wonders in any envXD
Although my 'private' space is less of me timeXD
Moving on to studies, well could do better bah!! Don't fail any modules!! This HAS got to be my ultimate resolution for the next 2 yrs?! Hees~ 頑張って！
and other minor things I resoluted to do I did accomplish some so quite ok'd yeah??!
and oh ya i think i slacked on Yoga during the ltr half of the year so better buck up in this coming year~ ^^ sorry this post has to be this way cus I'm typing it on my phone-too lazy to put in lines like usually~
NExt YR!! There are many things I still wish to change abt myself,so I hope to move forward and upwards(can grow taller?!XD) inthe coming 2010!! The once in a blue moon random update :D
I wonder if anyone reads here anymore..haha.

Today i just finished watching 'Nodame Cantabile'~
No wonder so many ppl recommended it, its a really funny and inspiring drama XD
Like how Prof Auclair would ask, " What and why are you playing the piano"?...
Hmm. I use to ask myself this question very often last year at the point when I just graduated..Not abt the piano.But what am i doin.
Felt quite lost at tt point of time eh..hees.
Frustrated, but didnt rush for an answer.
I finally realized something;the purpose that could keep me goin,to continue forward at this pace :)
Just as a musician would yearn for the audiences' applause, i suppose I would work towards my efforts being applauded at. haha.
Although i hate appraisals *nvrdoneb4* , my first appraisal was kindof a 'fruitful' one?.. ^^
I might be getting what i was really looking for in a job! yays~ gogogo!

First post of 2009!
I really cant churn up alot of stuff at this moment.
But 2008 seems pretty satisfying!
The whole year kindof whirred past quickly, but things did happen!
After graduation in May, into the honeymoon period,
Entering myself into a part time degree, went through 3 interviews and got a job.
Within 3 months !
Everything after that was just like clockwork. TickTickTick.
oks on to 2009!
I hope i continue to grow..and to live healthier !!
More yoga, less fast food, sleeping earlier, more health food?!
Not sure about the last one bt whatever!
And work hard for school and work!
Actually i kindof look forward to this year!
Well not the age aspect but I have quite a few things planned out myself.
I hope it all works out and i'll continue to cherish all!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Could see the fireworks from my gran's house..
Every year i said i want to go watch it but i end up at home! haha.

Sometimes its good to be able to spend time freely as i want to. Because weekdays are occupied by work. and somehow during the weekends i visit my grandmother , thus i end up not sleeping to use the com till 4am in the morning >.<

As you can see. I have a matching bin and document holder. Oh wait, i also have the clock in the same print! XD
Bears, i know.So cute isnt it?!
And then i've got the strawberry cushion i got for half price at mother goose a while back.
Lastly, if you look carefully a vanity of some sort is sitting next to the document 'cabinet'..
That's what my mom gave to me for this christmas!
Its a vanity from Anna Sui for their autumn/fall collection..
The black anamel is really cool.
Plus, i like the rose scent that the palettes inside seem to have!

ahh. Back from trip.
Before i boarded i gobbled up AandW's ice cream waffle in 5 mins.
Had to eat it..!!
Slept all the way on the trip back.

Last wkend..!
Let's see, first my shoes from the taiwan spree arrived.
Very relieved.
Then, there was DnD.

This is my very first Dinner and Dance and i totally dreaded it even tho it was free.
I'm not really into these social stuff... Not these kind of gatherings in the least.. >.<

But! I still went ahead.. taking the effort to actually buy a dress, get my hair and makeup done.

About the dress, i used to diss bubble hem dresses simply because they always had to come in some cutesy color, as if the bubble hem was not cute enough already.

Hey but this was good. I like the dark blue balance with the bubble hem.

Not too over for me. ^^"

Rights on to the dinner then. € The theme was hollywood glamour.

So as predicted, there were ppl dressed up as dorothy and the scarecrow from wizard of oz, matrix, and starwars was a favourite!

Which reminds me Yoda is absolutely cute. ..

Then fastforward to the end.
Conclusion: Tiring. The colleagues wanted a second round but i was simply very exhausted right from the start of the dinner. I'm just not really made out for this kind of event.
I rather go drink! But i didnt touch a single drop of alcohol for the entire dinner ks.

Maybe because i cannot really tahan the slow pace of the waitresses/waiters. Or i felt exceptionally guai tt night. Dunno why also. Must be no mood to drink luh.

Colleagues and supervisor said I look different.
Mochiron! I'm tt kind of person who turns up at work in jeans and t-shirt and flipflops! everyday with a naked face without fail leh. XD
And being the twenty that i am now, i still prefer more relaxed activities in shorts and jeans and t-shirts!
Casual = banzai! Xp
Not such attention exhausting ones. Phew.
No wonder its an annual event.
Irespect party/wedding planners now.

I flipped thru the picture book and they had totally cool studs.

Besides that, they really are aesthetically pleasing to the eyes lar.

At least i worry abt the financial crisis and dnt wish to splurge on a 4000$ chanel bag with my first paycheck. Isnt possible anyway..?

Window shopping was fun.

Today i bring macaroons!
Finally~this day has come.
My parents bought it from Canele for me.
The salesgirl said it was macaroon season and a box of 6(seasonalflavours) costed about 26 plus tax.
But..what is macaroon season?!
I seriously have no idea. Its not even a fruit to start with.
Its a kind of french pastry!
Which i have yet to try until now.

The packaging is kindof pretty isnt it?Sorry for the horrendous photo.
My office com has no photoshop you see ^^

Now to the real deal..The Macaroons~
They have no infomation on wadsoever flavours they came in so this is based on what i tasted.
From top right (clockwise) : BlackSesame/orangecream/lemonzest/Chocolate/Blueberrycheese/Strawberry

The flavours came out pretty strong. I especially like the orangecream.
One point. All are extremely sweet.
It'll be alright to just eat one.
But we finished all six at one shot so..>.<
But what really interest me is the texture of these pastry.
It looks like it has a crust but it is soft and chewy.
My dad says he'll be better of eating biscuits. haha.
I say.. biscuits are cheaper alternatives Xp

Rights. My encounter with the sweet hamburger will end here.

Note: I'll crave for this occasionally. and i'm goin back to Canele for their cakes. :q

School has officially started today.
4 solid hour lectures.
its all coming back, the organic chem stuff. haunting,daunting? haha.
Met up with Thiv on Monday.
Its been like, 2 months? since i've seen her!
Its quite surprising, to actually hear her studying to be a primary school teacher..
She seems to really enjoy her life and school at present, good to know.
I'm sure i'll hear lots of amusing stories when she starts her attachment in the future! XD
From what she said, she felt at a lost. Cant see where to move on in science after her degree.
Well actually, who doesnt feel this way?
At least i do.
I could do a masters.
But pHD? i'm not too sure about tt.
I waver at the thought of not being able to catch up with the pace of science in the future.
After i reach a certain point, then i might not know where to advance on already.
But its still long before i reach tt point.
So i'll still have time to set up plans. Even if it means moving away from what i'm doin now.

Speaking of today.
I went for my first Hatha (B) lesson.
It wasnt as difficult as i made it out to be afterall.
I went back to read and found out it focuses more on the postures(asanas),
breathing techniques to help cultivate a sense of well-being and self realization..
I shall add it to my weekly schedule.
I'm so excited abt going for the Yin yoga session next week.

And i hope my media dnt get contaminated or something cause it would
really suck to see my cultures get ruined!
But i'm really worried because some idiot spilled something and the whole falcontube and rack in the coldroom got fungus/mould and tt is where the media is stored. Besides, the buffer i made tt day now has bacteria/mould growing in it!! ARGH!!!
Now i have to remake the buffer i need to use on monday.
And i'm so goin to clean the rack! **RANTS**
Ppl can complain abt how dirty the cold room is and just ignore abt cleaning up !

I'm pretty much left to do shopping alone nowadays. My lovely vest!
thinking to get the shirt not.. I wanted to buy tt blouse on the right but the seams

This was a food-filling week.
Tues i had korean cuisine!
Kudos to my supervisor.
Hyang To Gol at Amara Hotel was good.
TO be truthful, its the first time i really ate korean food in a restaurant.
the side dishes were omfg alot can.
Still got dessert and free coffee!I gotta go there again..

And ytd i ate authentic thai food..

They got such a fantastic album name, overly exaggerated but pretty clothes..
BUT! the album cover just does nothing to help.

TABOO : Being the first track, it has kindof a majestic feel ?? Xp
Good for displaying visual effects and props wadsoever at a concert. My thoughts lar.

At such a holy hour i am unfortunately not being able to fall asleep.
I have been getting quite annoyed at somebody recently.
There have been times when ppl tell us something and we refuse to listen.
Insisting tt we are right.
But then walking a little furthur down the road and putting in a little thought ltr makes a difference.
Hmm.. Am i still so certain as i was a few yrs ago?Maybe not.
Perhaps i am so not in the right mind thinking of such nitty gritty stuff.
But its also the small things tt matters isnt it?

I am decaying at home.
Till the state where my mom is quite concerned and she offers to sponsor me if i take up any long awaited baking course and stuff! Loveherlots..

Need to update. I just heard a very bad news from my mom just now..
The bird flu has attacked HK. Went for a shift and it's lethal !! >.<
I can almost hear our plans being thrown in the bin.

Besides, i have been taught that teaching is a tiring job.
Seriously, i thought i could almost faint today looking at the students perform the experiments.

Oh well. Its my last day of poly today.
Hmm.
There was always anticipation for this day to arrive and yet now, i feel sortof panicky and nostalgic.
Thinking: Is it really over and oh gosh.
Beyond the 3 yrs, its almost time to step into another chapter of life.
Somewhat i think it's not just me. I suppose everyone's feeling it??

MaaMaa, when the storyline is still being decided.
Shall indulge in some self-stufy for these few months! I'm goin to work hard for JPLT 1! It's beneficial in a couple of ways! To save electricalcost cus i'll be away from the com and instead of lazy ard in front of the tv*costsagain* , i'll be studying! (hopefully>.<)

Its the weekends!!
And my very dreaded presentation is over!! (itwasonthursactually ^^)
Yays!! yadayada..

So glad ! The acessors were quite happy with our presentation and NO QUESTIONS were asked! seriously!!
We were done in less than half an hour *fastorwad?*
One of them wanted to use our AES (self-production) life learning video as a teaching material..
Not sure abt how true it is..
But hearing it makes one feel gleeful ya'll know.. Heehee.

Now what's left is the following 1 wk and the final report!! エール。。エール　～いたい！！

after the presentation went to sing K!! After so long! Tho i was having this really nasal voice due to flu..Still insisted on singing! Love singing.. Yes.
First attempt at singing J songs at K.. 　やった!

Not having any decent updates recently..In fact,not even a short one..
Been busy with my Final Year Project..
Gosh. Repeating almost the same stuff everyday..
Tho we have the whole lab to ourselves most ofthe time..
Occasionally we get breathed down our necks by the DO..!! Kindof irritating.
6 wks more to go.. I anticipate and dread the end of it at this same moment.
Nuff of tt..
And then there's this weird thing goin on..
I dun even want to get started on it..
And itz times like this when i appreciate comfort food alot!! Those yummi-licious cakes bought by my uncle!!!

Mousse Choco *i suppose* cake with a layer of crisp waffle that had tt hazelnut cream in it..
Tt round and cute looking chestnut cake made with chestnuts imported from france..
Whoa. A warm pasty texture bursting with rich sweetness.. mmh.

Being thrown with choices and then being in a quandary.

Changed the blog layout! No major changes but at least!! >.< Feeling the summer atthispresentmoment!! Ultrafiltration is time consuming!! Used 2 hrs to centrifuge a pathetic 2 ml of sample!
Argh! *faints*
Still must continue on Fri.. It's part of the project afterall... *forAnoblecause!!*

Holiday tomorrow! Yays ^^
Must pack my room.Where the floor is littered with clothes..And literally littered. I need to tiptoe across the room to get something!!
Reason being : I'm getting a new cupboard! Finally. Wahaha. Thanks to my beloved parents of course. The old one was getting all creaky and shaky! Rights gotta go catch my dorama!!
